Handout PFS : Practice Final Solutions 3 Problem

چکیده
For example, on input a1, a2, a3, a4, a5 where a1 = 3, a2 = 4, a3 = 4, a4 = 5, a5 = 7, a possible solution is to take S1 = {1, 4} and S2 = {2, 3}, bacause a1 + a4 = a2 + a3 = 8. On the other hand, on input the sequence 2, 3, 4, there is no possible solution. Devise a dynamic programming strategy to decide whether such sets S1 and S2 exists. The solution should run in time polynomial in n and M . In describing your solution

Problem Set 3 Midterm Exam
Solutions must be submitted at beginning of class on Wednesday, March 3, 2004. This is an open-book exam. Handwritten answers are fine as long as they are legible and organized. Please show all work. I've tried to leave space on this handout for your solutions. The midterm is worth 15% of your total grade.

OBJECTIVE To assess the influence of giving patients a handout about tetanus immunisation on the rate of immunisation against tetanus among adults in a general practice. DESIGN Monthly tetanus immunisation rates were audited before and after the handout was introduced. SETTING A practice with six doctors and a list of 11,000 patients in an urban area of Hertfordshire. INTERVENTIONS In the...
متن کاملHandout: Influence Maximization
The study of social processes by which ideas and innovations diffuse through social networks has been ongoing for more than half a century and as a result a fair understanding of such processes has been achieved. Modern models of social influence have been augmented with various features allowing for arbitrary network structure, non-uniform interactions, probabilistic events and other aspects. ...
متن کامل8430 Handout 6: Proof of the Main Theorem
We are now going to take a decisive step forward by proving the Main Theorem on which primes p are represented by the principal quadratic form qD(x, y) of discriminant D < 0, when D is a fundamental discriminant, i.e., the discriminant of the full ring of integers of Q( √ D). Of course, to solve our original problem of representation of primes by x + ny for arbitrary n, we need to look also at ...
